The captain, passionate about this history, shares tales of dramatic events in these waters. Aida, built in 1989 at Brekneholmen Shipyard, now calls Farsund harbor home. Put on your hard hat and prepare for an exciting and educational tour inside a real mineral mine a short ride from the Næs Ironworks. This is a unique opportunity to learn about everyday life and working conditions 300 years ago. The Solberg mine, in operation from around 1730 until circa 1870 was a direct supplier of magnetite iron ore to nearby Næs Ironworks.
